Course Details
Our intensive 2-day City & Guilds 2407-01 Certificate in Electrical Testing and Verification of Electrical Installations (Ireland) is for experienced electricians who are renewing their previous QC qualification and are familiar with the use of their meter and testing procedures and documentation.
Covering the same core content as the standard 4-day course — including pre- and post-power supply testing, fault identification, earth loop impedance, RCD testing, and completion of certification documentation — this format is best suited to those with strong existing knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical installations.
Course Aim
This unit covers the knowledge and practical skills needed to perform or technically administrate initial verifications or periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations. The qualification relates to the inspection and testing of electrical installations as detailed in the National Rules for Electrical Installations for Ireland.
Course Objectives
Participants will develop an understanding of the legislative requirements governing the inspection and testing of electrical installations in Ireland, including the National Rules for Electrical Installations. The programme covers safe isolation procedures, correct selection and use of test instrumentation, and the completion of initial verification and periodic inspection activities in line with current industry standards. Participants will also learn how to identify non-compliant conditions, apply defect classifications, complete certification documentation accurately, and maintain safe working practices throughout testing activities.
