Course Details

A valid Practioner Course pass is required prior to enrolment on this programme.

This programme develops participant capability from technical commissioning delivery into programme leadership within mission-critical environments.

The training focuses on strategic planning, design verification, operational readiness, systems validation, stakeholder coordination, and high-level test management across all commissioning stages.

Participants will strengthen their ability to oversee complex commissioning activities, manage technical and commercial pressures, direct integrated testing operations, and uphold the performance, reliability, and operational standards expected by hyperscale and colocation clients.

Course Aim

To develop participants from commissioning application into commissioning leadership — equipping them to own and govern the entire commissioning programme as CXA or senior GC from L0 design review through to L6 Final Report. The Advanced Course builds the strategic, technical and interpersonal capabilities required to lead a programme, protect the Owner’s interests independently, and continuously improve from every project.

Course Objectives

Participants will develop the ability to produce and manage advanced commissioning documentation, including Cx Plans, witness strategies, load bank plans, and programme risk registers. The programme covers L0 design review processes, discrepancy management against technical design documentation, and the development of L4 and L5 commissioning schedules with resource planning considerations. Participants will also build competency in leading daily commissioning activities, managing escalation and conflict resolution, developing operational test procedures aligned with OPR and SLA requirements, coordinating live switching activities during FPT and IST phases, and maintaining professional client engagement standards within hyperscale and colocation environments.

Learning Outcomes

1. Produce and own the CxPlan as the governing document for the entire commissioning programme from L0 to L6.

2. Conduct a full L0 design review independently, identify single points of failure and BoD vs as-built gaps, and raise formal discrepancies.

3. Build, manage and defend a realistic L4/L5 commissioning schedule under client compression demands, citing contractual and technical minimums.

4. Chair and facilitate the daily L4 Cx meeting and manage vendor conflicts, test failures and Owner escalations professionally.

5. Write complete L4 FPT scripts with all pass/fail criteria traceable to the OPR and mandatory EPMS/BMS data requirements specified.

6. Lead an L4 FPT test day as CXA, applying the radio switching protocol and managing a live FAIL without compromising the commissioning record.

7. Design a complete Tier III IST failure scenario suite with SLA monitoring matrix and present it for Owner and GC review.

8. Demonstrate Advanced engineer’s mindset: leading commissioning programmes, protecting Owner’s interests independently, and resisting the three failure modes.
